Respect Begins Here Prevention
Healthy relationships are built on respect. This campaign works with schools, youth groups, and families to model and teach what respectful relationships look and feel like — starting early.
Respect Begins Here
Healthy relationships are not something most of us are taught — they are something we have to deliberately learn. The Respect Begins Here campaign is grounded in the belief that education about respect, boundaries, consent, and healthy relationship dynamics is most powerful and most lasting when it starts early and is reinforced consistently.
We partner with schools, youth organizations, faith communities, and families to deliver age-appropriate curriculum on what respect looks and feels like — in friendships, romantic relationships, peer groups, and family dynamics. We give young people the language, the awareness, and the confidence to recognize unhealthy dynamics before they escalate into harmful patterns.
Prevention is always more powerful than response. When we teach young people to build and demand respect-based relationships, we are interrupting cycles of abuse before they begin — not treating wounds after they've been inflicted. This is the work of lasting, generational change.

Why This Campaign Changes Lives
Young people who receive healthy relationship education in schools and youth programs are measurably less likely to experience or perpetrate relationship violence. Prevention programming at the youth level is the single most cost-effective investment in community safety available.
Many survivors of relationship abuse report that they lacked the framework to recognize unhealthy dynamics when the relationship began. Respect Begins Here gives young people that framework before they need it — so they can protect themselves and support their peers.
